The legend goes that some errant members of Fairview’s long-established goat herd once escaped from their paddock into the Fairview vineyards after Charles Back’s young son Jason accidentally left the gate open. The little group happily roamed among the vineyards, showing rare discernment by selecting some of the ripest berries from the vines. Inspired by this tale, we now use these berries in the making of our Goats Do Roam wine. Highly drinkable and superb in quality, the Goats Do Roam range is an intriguing mix of southern French and Italian style blends, rich in complexity and at value-for-money prices.

Goats do Roam White
The legend goes that some errant members of Fairview’s long-established goatherd once escaped from their paddock into the Fairview vineyards after Charles Back’s young son Jason accidentally left the gate open. The little group happily roamed among the vineyards, showing rare discernment by selecting some of the ripest berries from the vines. Those berries have been used to make this white blend, a light bright green, medium bodied wine with aromas of apricots and pear and a zesty acidity.
Goats do Roam Red
Our Goats Do Roam 2020 is a Rhône blend which shows typical aromas of blueberries, raspberry and plums with a touch of savoury spice. It has a youthful, juicy palate with layered generous berry fruit and pepper which is balanced with integrated oak nuances. The palate is smooth with fine tannin and a long fresh finish.
Goat Father
We’re gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse. This blend of Don Goatti’s personal selection comprises of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, culminating in a medium-bodied wine with an unmistakable Mediterranean flair.
Goat Roti
With a name derived from the celebrated Côte-Rôtie region of Southern France, Goat Roti is a wine set to please even the trickiest of elders within the flock. Abundant with rich fruit and warm spices, heart and gusto.
